Syrian Hands and Japan Islamic Trust Continue Their Commitment to Orphan Education and Family Support in Syria.
Every child has a dream, and every dream deserves a chance to grow.
Through the continued partnership between Syrian Hands and Japan Islamic Trust (JIT), we remain committed to supporting orphaned children in Syria, helping them continue their education, overcome challenges, and build a brighter future.
During his recent visit to Syria, Dr. Hussam Zaineh, Founder and Team Leader of Syrian Hands, visited sponsored orphans and their schools in the Damascus countryside.
The visit was an opportunity not only to provide financial assistance but also to meet the children personally, listen to their hopes and ambitions, and better understand their educational needs.
Supporting 60 Orphans and 8 Vulnerable Families in Syria
Thanks to the generosity of our donors and supporters, Syrian Hands and Japan Islamic Trust provided three months of financial assistance to vulnerable children and families.
Our latest humanitarian activity included:
60 orphaned children received three months of sponsorship support.
8 vulnerable families received financial assistance covering three months.
School visits and personal meetings helped us better understand the children's educational experiences, aspirations, and challenges.
These efforts form part of our ongoing Orphan Sponsorship Program in Syria, which aims to provide children with consistent support and opportunities to continue their education.
Listening to Their Dreams and Hopes
One of the most meaningful moments of the visit was a special gathering with our sponsored orphans.
Dr. Hussam spent time talking with the children about their daily lives, their favorite school subjects, and what they hope to become in the future.
What are your dreams? What is your favorite school subject? What challenges do you face at school?
These simple questions opened valuable conversations about the children's aspirations and the difficulties they encounter in pursuing their education.
For Syrian Hands, listening to children is an essential part of understanding how we can support them more effectively.
Their dreams remind us that every child deserves more than financial assistance. They deserve encouragement, opportunities, and people who believe in their potential.
Orphan Sponsorship Is More Than Financial Assistance
Since 2012, Syrian Hands and Japan Islamic Trust have worked together to support Syrian orphans and vulnerable families affected by years of conflict and displacement.
Our orphan sponsorship program focuses on helping children remain in education while providing financial assistance to reduce the burden on their families and caregivers.
However, supporting an orphan means more than providing monthly financial assistance.
It also means listening to their concerns, encouraging their ambitions, recognizing their abilities, and helping them develop confidence in their future.
By maintaining personal connections with sponsored children and visiting their schools, we aim to better understand their needs and strengthen the long-term impact of our humanitarian support.
Education: Investing in Syria's Next Generation
Education remains one of the most important priorities of Syrian Hands.
After years of conflict and economic hardship, many Syrian families continue to struggle with the costs associated with their children's education.
For orphaned children, these challenges can be particularly difficult when families have limited financial resources.
Through our joint sponsorship program, Syrian Hands and Japan Islamic Trust seek to reduce these financial barriers and help children continue learning.
Our goal is not simply to help children attend school today, but to give them a better opportunity to shape their own futures tomorrow.
Supporting education is also an investment in Syria's long-term recovery. Every child who continues learning represents an opportunity for a stronger and more resilient society.
Connecting Donors in Japan with Children in Syria
The recent visit also reflects the importance of maintaining a direct connection between our supporters in Japan and the children benefiting from their generosity in Syria.
Meeting sponsored children, visiting their schools, and listening to their experiences help Syrian Hands better understand local needs and communicate the impact of our programs to donors.
These personal connections are central to our approach to humanitarian work.
We believe that effective orphan sponsorship should combine financial support, educational opportunities, personal encouragement, and long-term commitment.
Thank You for Helping Their Dreams Grow
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our donors, supporters, and volunteers who continue to make this work possible.
Your generosity has helped provide three months of sponsorship support for 60 orphaned children and financial assistance for 8 vulnerable families in the Damascus countryside.
More importantly, your continued commitment reminds these children that they are not forgotten and that people care about their education, wellbeing, and future.
Together, we can help Syrian children stay in school, continue learning, and pursue their dreams with confidence.
Every child has a dream. Together, we can help turn those dreams into opportunities.
